That was never a pen and 100% a dive....not a coming together or soft penalty an stone wall dive. Somebody just bumped into me harder than that and I’m on crutches and I didn’t fall over and the fella clipped Lanzini far mor than Anderson brushed Silva just because there’s constact it doesn’t mean it’s a foul. Our player cheated last week to score a goal their player cheated to get a pen both are as bad as each other but let’s call how it is they are both cheats. Only because he plays for city and salah plays for the bin dippers your not allowed to call them that

It's soft yes but Anderson was stupid going into the back of Silva like that. Silva wasn't going anywhere really plenty of players in front.

Still I thought we'd be battered 4 or 5 nil so a good result really.

A penalty is simple a foul committed in the box, nothing more, nothing less.

Pen was soft. We don't get pens that easily.

I'm bitter right now but if come May, city top Liverpool by a single point it might take the sting out.

Fredericks was excellent again last night, our best outfield player for sure.

Great to see the youth get a chance, one thing Johnson needs to work in is that he comes way to narrow, luckily Mahrez in the first half was absolutely woeful as too many times where he came narrow Mahrez was left with so much space.

Not a dig at him, just something he needs to work on.

Excellent performance, but with Carroll up we lack such a threat, we're we're better off trying to play with a a false 9.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So Wright and Shearer thought it was a penalty must have been then.
My sixty years of watching and playing the game I've been deceived.I thought you had to trip push or give away a blatant hand ball for it to be a penalty.
Didn't know that if someone brushes alongside you and that if you just collapse you'd get a penalty.
I really should read the rulebook again

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
When the teams were announced it seemed a case of damage limitation and we braced ourselves for a hatfull .

That we didn't see it we due in large part to excellent performances from our keeper (again) and our back four with the full backs really strong. Given one was on debut and the other still finding form and fitness it was a very pleasant surprise.

I thought it was a pen - a soft one- but still a pen . I've only seen it once but Anderson accelerated too late to get back and couldn't stop himself catching Silva.

Shame as this would have been a famous point - right up there with the night big Sam played 17th century football at Stamford bridge

Why anyone thinks we have a divine right to get something out of a game against possibly the best team in the world right now?

We did really well and they only got passed us through a penalty that wasn’t.

And to have youngsters on the pitch and a technically handicapped striker (carol) ... this has been good for us.

Finally, as much as I don’t want to lose against anyone, Liverpool winning the league is something I’m not sure I can handle.. no one wants this surely?

''We've struggled all season against teams full of industry who press the ball and hit us on the break.''

So why hasn't the manager rectified that problem?

I'm proud that it took a blatent cheat to beat us last night as I expected a cricket score but 7 points from the next 3 games?

Won't happen. We've struggled all season against teams full of industry who press the ball and hit us on the break.

'all season'? Actually, make that 'the entire 40 yearss I've supported West Ham'.

There's an old saying 'a win's a win' Well, by the same token a defeat is a defeat. Can't help thinking if we made or 2 different selections and had a bit of luck we could have nicked something. Never like losing.

Have to take a minimum 7 points from the next 3 games.

Just don't understand our fans sometimes.

Stuck in a decent defensive display against the team who will probably win the league and who beat Chelsea 6-0 in their last home game, yet Anderson is still popped at a little for giving away a penalty when in reality the Portuguese cunt has cheated.

I'm more bothered about how the youngster played considering debuts don't come much tougher.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Just woke in India, gutted that it was 1-0.
Why couldn't we just nick a goal at the end.

It seems like every time Anderson is bigged up by the media he goes missing for a couple of games.
He has to perform against the barcodes on Saturday, who are again on a decent run.

Ah, it’s no good us complaining. We handballed a goal on Friday. We were the better side on Friday and City were the better side here. It’s good that we kept them to a goal.
